National Trust – Rufford Old Hall, Lancashire
Garden Design Lancashire
I was asked, by the team at National Trust Property Rufford Old Hall in Lancashire, to create a garden design for their rather tired herbaceous borders. It was a great honour to be involved in such an important and idilic garden restoration and I sought inspiration from the famous Victorian garden designer, Gertrude Jekyll. Using her work as a guideline we injected a riot of colour and interest into the flower beds. The design incorporates plants that are true to the Victorian period of the garden, and I thoroughly enjoyed carrying out the research that would preserve the integrity of the border.
Hannah Collins Garden Design will endeavour to design a garden that suits the style, period and materials of the building it surrounds. This property was no different, and is a demonstration of the eclectic variation of styles and periods that our team can create.
This was a garden design Lancashire, however we work all over the North West on a varied project sizes and locations. For more information on a garden design like this one, or any other style you might have in mind for your garden, do not hesitate to get in touch with Hannah Collins Garden Design through our contact pages. Whether it be a planting plan, or a full design and build project we will be happy to discuss your ideas and aspirations you your garden. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
