To mirror the clean lines and minimal style, I used porcelain tiles used along with grey composite decking and also tall white gloss planters. The grey and white tones in this design are lifted by the warmth of the cedar wood slats which continue the modern, linear style along the walls.
Because this house sits within a busy urban area, privacy in the garden design was paramount. This was achieved using a bespoke pergola to give a sense of enclosure, and the gentle flow of the blade water feature masks the noise of traffic in the garden. The subtle up-lighting provides the perfect evening light for socialising with friends, in addition, an open area under the pergola provides space for seating. Finally, the garden was designed to be as easy to maintain as possible; artificial turf, box hedging and low-maintenance planting therefore means the clients have more time to spend sitting and enjoying the garden and less time working in it.
